    • “I've taken two of Bound's writing classes so far and both have been immensely helpful. The kind of feedback you get is very insightful and also gives you a writing community. One definitely comes out of this class a much-improved writer and feeling inspired and driven to continue the writing from where we last left class.”

    • Over the past two weeks, Michelle, our instructor, has been very polite and helpful. She made us understand things that we unconsciously know, but often don’t use. I’m an active writer. I participated in this class to improve my writing skills and it was very beneficial. Michelle made us analyse literary texts ourselves so that we write better and achieve the writing goals we've been dreaming about. In each two hour session, participants engaged each other with such intriguing conversations that time really flew by. This class has taught me the importance of living in a community, teamwork, good listening skills and of course, better writing techniques. I recommend this to all writers who want to improve their craft.  ”

    • Michelle D'costa's class was like a visit to a friend's house for some green tea. It comforted me and boosted my spirit. The ideas that came from that class jumpstarted my first literary short story in many years.  ”

    • In simple words: Michelle is fantastic. I personally went into this class wondering if it was even possible to make me write fiction because it's always been a Herculean task for me. Michelle broke it down into smaller chunks and made it so easy for me. She has a very kind and patient manner of facilitating and is extremely encouraging. I hope to attend more of her classes!  ”

    • The online class was supposed to be a happy escape from the boring lockdown, and instead it ended up being a huge part of my life right now. It was fun to meet so many people, and even more fun to work on all the prompts that Michelle handed out. I'm grateful to Michelle and Tara for organizing this online workshop. I think the online series is going to be easier on people who live in faraway places. The fact that so many people signed up that you had to open a second workshop is testament to how successful your endeavour has been. Looking forward to more classes in the future.  ”

    • Michelle's class was a welcome spell for me especially during the time I was facing a severe writer's block. I learnt how to structure my work, analyse stories and the book recommendations were excellent. I also got to learn a lot from my talented peers.  ”

    • What do I say about the Bound Story Writing classes? As the Aladdin song goes, it opened a whole new world for me. An extremely well planned and executed workshop. I attended both the Basic and Advanced levels and the insights, tips, readings , activities were all very enriching. For aspiring writers like us, it opens the floodgates and you want to pick up the pen and notepad and start writing as soon as you can. Thank you Michelle for guiding us so well. I would have never imagined that I would sit and dissect a science fiction story someday or write a letter as an unreliable narrator. But I did and thoroughly enjoyed the process.Would love to attend more workshops with Bound in the future.  ”

    • One of my cherished takeaways from Michelle’s class is this amazing community of avid readers and extremely talented writers that I get to be a part of. I went in not knowing what to expect, but by the end of our fourth class had learnt a vast amount of much needed basics to write a good story and the technicalities of the craft. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, it transported me back to the dreamy english classes from my school days!

    • What I loved about Bound’s two week fiction course – Michelle is friendly, kind and extremely encouraging. She created a safe space where writers could read out their work and get useful feedback on their pieces. It was nice getting lost for 8 hours in the world of writing, reading with other like-minded people. I hope to do more classes and better my work and I am glad I found such a wonderful community in Bound. -Sakshi Samtani

    • I had come across this two week course randomly on Instagram. I signed up just to see whether I had a little chance in writing or not. And now I can say that the class has made me a better writer. The online class was so interactive. Now when I am attending other classes, I miss this class. Michelle was so patient and encouraging with us. Being an introvert I was reluctant to speak in the first class, but the energy that this group had made me comfortable. She always had a warm smile on her face. I can see how her pro tips are helping us now in their own way. And the way she taught us integral parts of writing by taking us through different stories. Also, her bang on book reading suggestions. It is one of the most memorable workshop that I have participated in recent times. I am planning to join the next advanced fiction class. J -Swati Wagh

    • As an aspiring writer, one constantly looks for an invisible guiding hand, for a sense of direction. One desires to get trained in techniques and tips on the nuances of writing. This program does all that, but what it does best is to instill faith in one as a writer – not every program can claim to do that. With benevolent nudging, constructive feedback, and an open-minded cohort, one feels inspired. The camaraderie one enjoys with the rest of the cohort gives rise to a safe space where young writers feel like they have finally found their ilk. -Ramesh Krishnan

    • The most important thing for a young writer is simply getting started. That’s what this class has nudged me to do! Michelle created a non-judgemental, fun atmosphere where I felt comfortable sharing my words and receive helpful feedback, and felt, most importantly, encouraged, like I should in fact continue writing.  ”
