Pragya Bhagat is a spoken word poet, award-winning essayist, and author of two fascinating books: More Than a Memory and Yarn - An Interwoven Memoir.
Her work focuses on the intersection of themes such as mental health, belonging, and body image. Her poetry, essays, and fiction have been published in the Huffington Post, The Wire and Helter Skelter, amongst others. She currently lives in Goa.
Pragya has been conducting online workshops with Bound since May 2020 and has also been a mentor at Bound Writers' Retreat. She thinks of herself as an instructor and a facilitator, and is beloved by her students and the Bound Community!

Pragya's Month-long Poetry Academy 2020 is divided into two levels focusing on basic and advanced techniques.
All sessions will take place on Thursdays (6 pm - 8 pm) and Saturdays (4 pm - 6 pm).
Build a strong foundation with questions like:What is the function of detail in poetry? How can imposing limitations on your work expand it? What are the tools in a poet’s toolbox?
You will build your logical, linguistic and emotional intelligence with reading and writing assignments. There will also be spaces for reflection and feedback in each session.
Dive deeper into form, structure and other advanced poetry techniques. You will learn the nuances of writing and editing by editing a single poem four times.
Receive detailed and personalized feedback on your poetry and your style in a one-on-one mentoring session with the expert instructor Pragya Bhagat.
